As a room attendant it was nice to be treated as part of the team and not as an undesirable side of the hotel that needs to be hidden away. It could be stressful at times but not because of undue pressure from management but from the fact that we were always understaffed in the housekeeping department.

Management always took this into consideration and did their best to minimise the pressure while still trying to run a hotel and I think they did a good job. It is a hard, physically demanding job but it was a really nice place to work and the team was great.

However management was very messy and swore on shifts very unprofessional. The supervisor would disappear for hours on end airing shifts often for personal needs.

Great experience, learning how to deal with guest complaint, meeting amazing people, and working during the night shift was great for me at the time.

Some of them seem to be gordon ramsey wanna be's. They have no respect for human life and dont deserve to be in contact with human beings. Especially at a hotel where the customers can hear the chef screaming swear words at the top of his lungs as they walk to the bathroom. Minimum wage with no training by the way.

They will humiliate you and sanction you for not knowing how to do the job properly even though they said they will train you and still haven't. They will pay you minimum wage and make you work 14 hour shifts one day after the other. They will treat you like dirt while smiling in your face. The day that there was proof I am good at my job, after always being talked down to, they try to take my money from me.

I complained to the manager and she came into the bar screaming and swearing at me in front of all the customers. They were even going to fire me for having chronic back pain which has now developed into scoliosis , they were not supportive or cooperative. They pretended it was okay that I couldnt carry out certain tasks and claimed they'd support me by swapping tasks if needed. None of that happened.

Instead they planned to fire me, so I quit before they could. Great meal in the superb restaurant and good sized bathroom. John United Kingdom.
