Sigma, Tokina and even Canon and Nikon followed the Tamron design. The Tamron is also reported as having smaller donuts than an other mirror lens. Somebody on the net put the Tamron up against Canon L glass and was surprised that the Tamron almost equalled it.

It is hand holdable, faster and fits nice on the camera looking hardly any bigger than a big standard kit zoom. A great street lens. I would not walk around the street pointing a mm lens about but the Rubinar just looks normal. Unfortunatly it would be FD fit so useless today. Minolta also made the only auto focus mirror lens which I think Sony are rebadging and making available again. But MAF mount and very expensive. So pretty useless.
